About The Pre-Read
A pre-read is the document you read before a meeting. The Pre-Read publishes long memos on questions that come up when people run companies or lend to them: how they are organized, who takes over, what they are worth to a buyer, what they spend on new technology, and how they protect their payments.
How the memos are built
Every figure in a memo is linked to its source, shown beside the text. Where a figure comes from secondary reporting and not from the original document, the note says so. Each memo includes the strongest evidence we found against its own argument, and ends with a test a reader can apply.
What this is not
The Pre-Read does not sell financial products and does not give financial, legal or tax advice. Companies named in a memo are not affiliated with The Pre-Read and did not review it. We use advertising, including on Facebook, to reach readers.
